Thanks for a great trip in the Oberland. The scenery can’t be beat. I look forward to future trips with Alpenwild. - T.G. - California

Inn-to-Inn Hiking in the Bernese Oberland

Once you’ve experienced this highly-favored route from the Jungfrau region to Kandersteg, Adelboden, Lenk, and Gstaad you’ll see why we call this “The Filet of the Swiss Alps.” This is the perfect trip for experienced Jungfrau or Haute Route hikers looking for hidden treasures and exciting new surprises. You'll be treated to luggage transfers every night of our stay, so you can hike with just a light daypack. Our selection of superb hotels, fine cuisine, and the scenic splendor of the Bernese Alps make this an Alpenwild signature trip.

Hike Spectacular Scenery in Remote Alpine Valleys

Backpacker Magazine recently proclaimed the Via Alpina the "World's Best Hike"—and who are we to disagree? As we traverse this classic alpine terrain highlighted with the most scenic lakes, towering cliffs and bucolic villages in all of Switzerland, you’ll stay in absolutely charming chalet-style inns and 4-star hotels. There's hardly a moment when you're not within view of a waterfall—some of which are among the tallest in Switzerland. We cross alpine passes and high alpine meadows with commanding views.

We escape the tourist trail and find our way to car-free villages and remote alpine hamlets. We linger in Griesalp, Kandersteg and Adelboden to enjoy dayhikes, excursions, and cultural treasures that the through-hikers miss. Gstaad makes for an impressive conclusion, and you'll see why this little farming village drips with celebrity appeal.

Combine World-Class Hiking with Superb Cuisine

Every Alpenwild trip places a high priority on the wonderful cuisine and regional food specialties of the region in which we travel, and our Bernese Oberland Traverse is no exception. Farmstead alpine cheeses, rösti, and mouth-watering smoked sausages, and a continuous supply of Swiss chocolate will fuel your hiking adventures.
