Where the Swiss Go For Cross-Country Skiing

The spectacular Goms Valley is Switzerland's favorite cross-country ski destination. Never heard of it? It's where the Swiss go, and they've done a great job of keeping it a secret. Can you blame them? It's set at the top of the Rhone Valley near the Aletsch Glacier (the Alps longest) and it's flanked on three sides by some of the Alps' most spectacular peaks, which provides for guaranteed snow four months of the year and far sunnier weather than other parts of the Alps. We are absolutely positive it will become your favorite cross-country skiing experience.

Destination Cross Country Skiing at its Best

The 100km of expertly groomed trails run up and down the valley and generally parallel the headwaters of the Rhone River—not much more than a mountain stream at this stage. As you work your way down the valley you pass through over a dozen 12th century farming villages. And the local train, which follows the route of the Glacier Express, is your ski shuttle. So, you're free to get on and off at any stop along the way for ultimate convenience.
