Sirpa Burgess, UIMLA Certified International Mountain Leader

After Sirpa Burgess was born in Helsinki, Finland, her family moved to Münich in Germany a few years after. Sirpa's parents took her to various places around the Alps, those sweet memories call her back to the mountains time and time again. Sirpa's family moved back to Finland when it was time for Sirpa to start school.

In Finland, they have a very special northern portion of land called Lapland. Sirpa spent all of her holidays in her family cottage in Muonio. Sirpa loves those mountains (she refers to them as fells), they were her playground.

Sirpa experienced her first long hiking trip when she was 18 years old and hasn't ever looked back. She loves the pure, untouched nature and to explore the unknown. In the winter time, she likes to challenge herself with long ski trips and in the summer she enjoys fishing during her hiking trips. Sipra currently lives on an island coast where the sea is in her front yard and the forest is in the back! What a splendid location!

Sirpa has worked in a nature preschool teaching the children wilderness skills and nature knowledge along the curriculum. She decided to make a profession out of her hobby and passion and become a Wilderness guide. After years of hard work, the job as an international wildreness guide has become a dream come true. Now she can't wait to see where it will take her!
