Boudewijn van Doorn, UIMLA Certified International Mountain Leader

Boudewijn van Doorn is a Dutch and Swiss national, born in the Netherlands in 1970. He moved to Switzerland at the age of ten and obtained an MSc degree in Communication Systems in 1995 at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (CH). Always interested in mountains, trekking and sharing his passion for the outdoors, he obtained the Swiss federal diploma of higher education of Mountain leader in 2020 and is a UIMLA member.

His interests lie in the systemic understanding of how things work and how they came to be, what one can see (or not) outdoors and in mountains. He likes to embrace complexity and simplify it for his audience. His guiding practice focuses on sharing nature and mountain-based experiences, mixed with culture and history. He invites participants to reconnect to nature in simple ways, see it, understand it, learn to love it, protect it, and finally, learn to be part of it in a life inspired by it.

Driven by similar inspirations, he organizes outdoor team building & transformation workshops that aim at drawing inspiration from practices adopted by nature and forests in particular. Such experiences enable participants in finding and developing new ways to contribute, collaborate and care for each other and their environment. The outcome is augmented individual and team capabilities, with, for example, more resilience, efficiency, and altruism thanks to honest and transparent communications, and mutual understanding
