Steve White, UIMLA Certified International Mountain Leader

Steve has been trekking, climbing and ski touring in the world’s mountains for the last 45 years, ever since his first walks as a young boy in Snowdonia, Scotland, Bavaria and Italy.

He has travelled extensively in Antarctica, Asia, South America, Africa and Europe and has been leading trekking groups for over 30 years. He now regularly leads treks in Europe and Tanzania for both adults and students.

Steve is a fully qualified teacher and prior to this he spent 5 years working as a polar guide in the Antarctic, both in summer and the depths of winter. During this time, he was responsible for guiding scientists and support staff safely across the vast, icy, but beautiful, Antarctic wilderness.

Steve is currently based in the French Pyrenees. He works all year round as a fully qualified UIMLA International Mountain Leader, in Europe and Tanzania sharing his passion for the mountains with his groups. He looks forward to welcoming you to the European mountains and sharing his passion and knowledge for this region with you on your trekking adventure.
