Guido & Jolanda Walther, Rail Tour Trip Leaders

Jolanda was born in Switzerland in a small village between Zürich and Glarus in the Lake Zürich area. Guido was born in the Italian/Romansch speaking, southern part of Graubünden. After working as a technician in St. Moritz for several years, Guido moved to the northern part of Switzerland to work for a company installing and servicing quality control equipment all over the world.

During this time the two met, got married, bought a house and never wanted to move again. But when the opportunity arose for Guido to start up a subsidiary in the U.S. for the company he was working at the time, the couple moved to Atlanta in 2001 for “3 to 5” years; they still live there to this day with their two children.

Jolanda started her career in sales and worked many years for different Swiss companies in Import/Export. After moving to the USA, she made it a priortiy to teach her children Swiss German and all the Swiss traditions while doing volunteer work for different schools. Both have been Dual citizens since 2014 and always stayed connected to Switzerland by celebrating traditions with their kids, regularly visiting family and friends back home, and through the Swiss Atlanta Society.

They are very excited to share the beauty of Switzerland, amazing food, great people and all the diversity that Switzerland has to offer.
