At Alpenwild, we believe there’s no better way to experience the Alps than on foot.
For us, hiking isn’t just about reaching the next mountain pass or checking another destination off a list. It’s about the little moments along the way—the first glimpse of a glacier, stopping for lunch in a tiny mountain village, hearing cowbells in the distance, sharing a drink with new friends at the end of the day, and waking up knowing that another beautiful trail is waiting outside your door.
We’ve been creating hiking adventures in the Alps for years, and we’ve learned that the best trips are the ones where you can focus on enjoying the journey while someone else takes care of the details.
Planning an alpine trek can be complicated. Which trail should you take? Where will you stay? How do you get your luggage from one valley to the next? What happens if the weather changes?
That’s where we come in.
We design our trips from firsthand experience, carefully selecting routes, hotels, mountain inns, restaurants, and local partners. We arrange your accommodations, luggage transfers, transportation, maps, and detailed daily itineraries so you don’t have to spend your vacation figuring out the logistics.
You simply wake up, put on your hiking shoes, grab your daypack, and go.
We love the mountains, but we also love a comfortable bed, a hot shower, and a great dinner.
Our inn-to-inn hiking trips are designed for travelers who want to experience the Alps without giving up the comforts they enjoy at home. Depending on the itinerary, you might spend the night in a charming family-run hotel, a historic alpine inn, or a beautiful mountain lodge.
And because we believe the evening is part of the adventure too, we put just as much thought into where you stay as we do into the trails you walk.
Our guided trips are intentionally kept small. We like it that way.
Small groups make it easier to get to know one another, enjoy a more personal experience with your guide, and make adjustments along the way when needed. Many of our guests arrive traveling with a friend or partner—and many arrive on their own and leave with lifelong hiking friends.
There’s something special about sharing a challenging climb, a spectacular view, or a well-earned glass of wine with a group of people who started the trip as strangers.
The Alps are beautiful, but they can also be unpredictable. Weather changes. Trails close. Buses run late. Plans sometimes need to change.
We’ve learned to expect the unexpected.
Our team works closely with local guides, hoteliers, transportation providers, and other partners throughout the Alps. We keep an eye on trail and weather conditions and adjust our plans when necessary. If something doesn’t go according to plan, we're here to help figure it out.
That’s one of the benefits of traveling with Alpenwild: you’re never completely on your own.
We could tell you about the miles, elevation gains, beautiful hotels, luggage transfers, and carefully planned itineraries—and all of those things matter.
But what really keeps us excited about Alpenwild are the stories our guests bring home.
It’s the guest who discovered she was capable of hiking farther than she ever imagined. The couple who celebrated an anniversary on a mountain trail. The friends who have come back to hike with us year after year. The solo traveler who arrived not knowing anyone and left with a new group of friends.
Those are the experiences we’re trying to create.
We want you to come home with tired legs, a very full camera roll, and a story you’ll be telling for years.
So lace up your boots, leave the logistics to us, and come walk through the Alps with us.
We’ll see you on the trail.
