We rate this trip as moderate. You should be an experienced hiker in good physical condition. You should be capable of walking 3 to 5 hours per day on good trails with some steep ascents and descents (averaging 1,500 to 2,000 vertical feet per day) at an elevation up to 7,300 feet above sea level.

Arrival

We recommend flying into Milan, Italy for this tour. There are two airports in Milan:

Milano Malpensa Airport (MXP)
Milan Linate Airport (LIN)

Both airports are great options; however, MXP is the most convenient for this tour since it’s located just steps away from our meeting point at the Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel & Conference Centre, directly connected to the airport terminal.

The tour will officially begin at 10:00 AM on the first day at the Sheraton. From there, we’ll board a private shuttle and depart for Lake Garda (approximately a 2.5 hour drive) to begin our lakeside adventure.

If you’d like to explore Milan before the tour, we recommend booking our Milan Getaway—a perfect way to add a little extra adventure to your trip before your tour begins.

Departure

The evening before your departure, we will transfer back to Milan for our final evening at an included accommodation near the MXP Milan Malpensa Airport (Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel & Conference Centre).

Departing flights can be booked anytime on Day 9 as the final hotel is connected to the MXP Milan Malpensa Airport.
