Please accept our gratitude for the amazing Alpine experience. You really put together a fantastic trip for us, and we know that this trip will remain an enduring memory. - J.M. - California
After your arrival in Geneva, Switzerland (GVA), we will provide shuttle transportation to Chamonix, France (approximately a 1.5-hour drive). The group will meet on the first day at 2:00 PM in the hotel lobby for a casual meet and greet, followed by a short excursion and a welcome dinner to kick off our adventure together.
We recommend flying out of Geneva, Switzerland (GVA) at the end of your tour. On the final day, we’ll depart Italy and travel to Chamonix, France, where we’ll spend our last night together. After breakfast at your hotel, a shared shuttle will take you to the Geneva Airport—approximately a 1.5-hour drive.
To ensure a smooth and stress-free travel experience, please do not book a departing flight before 11:00 AM, as shuttles will leave Chamonix about 4.5 hours prior to your flight time (allowing for the 1.5-hour transfer and the recommended 3-hour early arrival for international travel).
Our Alps experts can assist with recommendations for your pre- and post-tour travel arrangements. Simply call or email us your plans and we are happy to help make the best of your vacation experience. Consider an Alpenwild Getaway, a short-stay, self-guided option that’s easily combined with your tour plans.
You will stay in carefully chosen inns that capture the authentic charm of the Alps.
The hallmark of an Alpenwild trip is our exceptional dining, including buffet breakfasts, picnic lunches, and many dinner options. NOTE: Alcoholic beverages, specialty drinks, and related gratuities are not included. Also, one dinner in Courmayeur (day 5) is not included. Please be aware that you may need to help carry some of the food during the trek in your backpack for picnic lunches.
We can accommodate a vegetarian diet, but since Alpine cuisine is centered around dairy products, accommodating a vegan diet is difficult. Be aware that our hotels will have vegetarian options, but not necessarily vegan for dinner. You’ll have plenty of whole grain and fresh fruit options at breakfast. For lunch, we will purchase items for the day and you’re welcome to come with us or give us specific requests. You’ll find the larger grocery stores have good gluten-free and vegetarian selections.
