Marko was born in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, and has spent the past nine years living in Split. He holds a Master’s degree in Physical Geography, with a focus on geomorphology, hydrology, microclimates, cartography, and protected natural areas.
Marko’s first love in the outdoors is hiking, but he’s equally passionate about sea kayaking. Since 2013, he has worked as a multisport outdoor guide, specializing in hiking and sea kayaking tours. When he’s not guiding, you’ll find him exploring new trails—often off the beaten path—and discovering hidden corners of nature.
His favorite playground is the Dinaric Alps, but friends joke that there’s no mountain or island in Croatia he hasn’t visited. Marko is not only an expert on Croatia but also highly knowledgeable about Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Slovenia. And did we mention? He’s also into speleology (cave exploration)!
There’s much more to Marko’s story—but the best way to learn about him is to join him on an Alpenwild tour.
