After your arrival in Geneva, Switzerland (GVA), we will provide shuttle transportation to Chamonix, France (approximately a 1.5-hour drive). The group will meet on the first day at 2:00 PM in the hotel lobby for a casual meet and greet, followed by a short excursion and a welcome dinner to kick off our adventure together.
We recommend flying out of Geneva, Switzerland (GVA) at the end of your tour. On the final day (Day 11), a shared shuttle will take you to the Geneva Airport—approximately a 1.5-hour drive.
To ensure a smooth and stress-free travel experience, please do not book a departing flight before 11:00 AM, as shuttles will leave Chamonix about 4.5 hours prior to your flight time (allowing for the 1.5-hour transfer and the recommended 3-hour early arrival for international travel). Please note: If you are extending your stay or require a different departure schedule, private shuttle transfers can be arranged for a day and time that best suits your itinerary.
Our Alps experts and Certified Switzerland Specialists can assist with recommendations for your pre- and post-tour travel arrangements. Simply call or email us your plans and we are happy to help make the best of your vacation experience. Consider an Alpenwild Getaway, a short-stay, self-guided option that’s easily combined with your tour plans.
You will stay in carefully chosen hotels that capture the authentic charm of the Alps.
The hallmark of an Alpenwild trip is our exceptional dining; including buffet breakfasts, picnic lunches, and many dinner options. NOTE: Alcoholic beverages, specialty drinks, and dinners on nights 4 and 7 are not included.
We can accommodate a vegetarian diet, but since Alpine cuisine is centered around dairy products, accommodating a vegan diet is difficult. You’ll have plenty of whole grain and fresh fruit options at breakfast. For lunch, we will purchase items for the day and you’re welcome to come with us or give us specific requests. You’ll find the larger grocery stores have good vegetarian selections. For dinner our hotels will have vegetarian options, but not necessarily vegan. Other dietary restrictions like gluten-free may not be accommodated in remote mountain towns.
