You’ll hike on well-established alpine paths through some of the most iconic Dolomite landscapes. Expect a mix of smooth trails, rocky sections, switchbacks and occasional exposed areas that open up to stunning panoramas.
It’s not technical climbing—just pure alpine hiking. Your guide will set a steady pace and make route adjustments if needed, especially when terrain or weather shifts.

Because parts of the route are exposed or rocky, waterproof layers and sturdy boots are essential. Your guide will monitor conditions closely and adapt plans if necessary.
Hiking days typically involve 4–6 hours of walking, with elevation up to around 8,000 feet.

While there’s some altitude, it’s not extreme mountain climbing—most guests won’t experience significant altitude sickness. That said, being in good physical condition will help make the trek more enjoyable.
We keep our Alta Via 1 groups intentionally small. We book only seven guest rooms in advance, which results in 6 to 12 guests per tour. Small groups foster camaraderie, flexibility, and attentive guidance. With as few as nine guests, we include two expert guides, giving hikers room to move at their own pace while staying fully supported.
Please note that each Alpenwild tour requires a minimum of 6 guests to guarantee departure.
