Our journey begins in Jackson Hole, surrounded by the towering peaks of the Teton Range, before traveling north into the world's first national park. Wildlife on Skis

Winter is one of the most remarkable seasons for wildlife in the Greater Yellowstone. With fewer visitors and animals concentrated in lower-elevation valleys, the snowy landscape offers exceptional opportunities to observe wildlife in its natural habitat.

Begin in Jackson Hole with cross-country skiing beneath spectacular Teton views, followed by a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the National Elk Refuge, one of the region’s most iconic winter wildlife experiences. Continue into Yellowstone, where scenic travel and dedicated wildlife viewing offer opportunities to spot moose, bighorn sheep, and other winter residents. The journey culminates in Yellowstone’s wildlife-rich Northern Range, where we’ll ski through the snow-covered landscape in search of bison, elk, coyotes, foxes, and other species.

Throughout the journey, our guides bring the winter landscape to life. Trained to recognize wildlife tracks, signs, and behaviors, they’ll point out the stories written in the snow, from tracks and feeding patterns to subtle signs of animals moving through the landscape, offering a deeper understanding of how wildlife survives the Greater Yellowstone winter.

Bespoke Snowcoach Travel

In winter, Yellowstone becomes a true snowbound wilderness. Once the snow arrives, all roads in the park are snow-packed, and winter travel is restricted to specially equipped oversnow vehicles. Rather than simply using transportation to get from one place to another, we make the journey part of the experience.

In Jackson Hole, we travel in comfortable luxury 4-wheel-drive shuttles before transitioning to our custom-built luxury snowcoaches for Yellowstone. Designed specifically for our winter tours, these hybrid vehicles are built to travel smoothly over snow-packed roads while helping reduce emissions. With the flick of a switch, they can transition between oversnow and conventional road configurations, allowing us to move seamlessly between Yellowstone and surrounding roadways.

Warm, comfortable, and purpose-built for Arctic-style conditions, our bespoke snowcoaches provide the perfect way to explore Yellowstone's snow-covered valleys, forests, and geothermal landscapes. Depending on conditions, we’ll spend at least one evening with a professional astronomer, using telescopes and other specialized equipment to explore the stars, planets, and constellations overhead. With minimal light pollution and exceptionally clear winter skies, Yellowstone offers an extraordinary setting for experiencing the night sky.
