After arriving in Zurich, you’ll take the train to Sargans, Switzerland, and then continue by bus to Vaduz, Liechtenstein—all included with your Alpenwild rail pass. On the first day, the group will gather at 2:00 pm in the hotel lobby for a relaxed meet-and-greet, giving everyone a chance to connect before the adventure begins.
Later, enjoy a gentle introductory hike around Vaduz, taking in views of the iconic Vaduz Castle and the surrounding Alpine scenery. The day concludes with a welcome dinner, where you can share stories, laughter, and anticipation for the journey ahead with your fellow women adventurers.
On the morning of Day 12 in Grindelwald, it’s time to bid farewell to the Alps and your fellow adventurers as your rail pass takes you back to Zurich Airport for departure or onward travel in Switzerland. The journey takes approximately 3.5 hours, with the first train departing Grindelwald at 5:17 am, so please plan flights accordingly.
As your incredible women’s-only adventure comes to a close, take a moment to celebrate the strength, laughter, and memories you’ve shared along the trails. If you’d like a little extra time to relax and reflect, we can recommend comfortable hotels in Zurich, giving you the perfect ending to your transformative journey.

Consider an Alpenwild Getaway, a short-stay, self-guided option that’s easily combined with your tour plans
You will stay in carefully chosen and independently owned 3- and 4-star hotels, and one classic Berghotel in Engstlenalp, which captures the authentic charm of the Alps.
Note that the Berghotel Engstlenalp will have private rooms with shared bathrooms. This hotel has 5 private rooms with ensuite bathrooms, which can be upgraded for $75 USD if available. Please arrange this directly with Alpenwild beforehand.
A hallmark of every Alpenwild adventure is our exceptional dining experience, featuring buffet breakfasts, picnic lunches, and a variety of delicious dinners. NOTE: Alcoholic beverages, specialty drinks, one lunch, and one dinner in Engelberg (day 8) are not included.
We can accommodate vegetarian diets, though, because Alpine cuisine is heavily centered around dairy; fully vegan options may be limited. Hotels typically offer vegetarian dinner choices, while breakfast features plenty of whole grains, fresh fruit, and wholesome options. For lunch, we’ll gather supplies for the day, and you’re welcome to join us or provide specific requests. Larger grocery stores along the route also carry good gluten-free and vegetarian selections, ensuring everyone has nourishing meals while on the trail. BERGHOTEL ENGSTLENALP can only provide vegetarian meals and cannot accommodate vegans.
